Delivery Driver
So I applied online first, and then HR called me to check if I was free to work, legally allowed to work, and flexible with my hours. After that, I had an in-person meeting with the supervisor where we talked about my past work, if I was careful with safety, and if I could work different shifts.
- Can you work different shifts, like nights and weekends?
Reliability Engineer
I applied through a staffing agency working with the company. First, I had a phone screening with the agency. Then, a phone interview with the hiring manager and someone from HR. After that, it was an on-site interview. The on-site was mostly behavioral questions, like 'Tell me about a time you were in [situation], and how you dealt with that situation'. They asked a few technical questions too. I also got to ask them questions. I noticed a difference between the job description and the actual responsibilities, it felt like I was interviewing for a different role. Some of my serious questions got sarcastic answers, which was off-putting. The company was recently bought by a private equity firm, and they were focused on improving profitability. I think this influenced my experience.
- Describe a situation where you had to manage competing time demands from multiple clients, and explain your approach.
- Can you share an instance where you faced a challenging situation and describe how you navigated it?
Debagger
The interview was pretty straightforward, mostly focusing on teamwork and prior factory experience. They wanted to know what I could bring to the company and how I collaborate with people. The main takeaway was that you need to make a significant impact to get hired.
- What makes you a good candidate for this position?
- Have you previously worked in a factory setting?
- What contributions can you make to our company?
Palletizer
I met with HR for a one on one. They asked me some questions and got my basic info. Then they gave me a tour of the facility. I got a job offer for third shift shortly after the interview. I accepted and went to a two day orientation for the position. The orientation covered safety and conduct codes.
- Tell me about a time you were unsure how to proceed. How did you resolve it?
