First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Tufts University School of Medicine.
Practice Manager
I applied online and heard back in about two weeks. We set up a phone interview. At the end, they asked if I'd come to Boston for an in-person interview (no travel reimbursement). I said yes, and after a couple of weeks and phone calls to set it up, I flew out. While there, I met with several people, including HR, in three or four meetings. The questions were like the phone interview but more in-depth. They showed me around and talked about upcoming changes. It felt like a series of staff meetings where they asked how I'd handle things or roll out new stuff. They wanted my input on changes and ideas for improvement, drawing from what they told me and my own background.
- Can you describe your previous management experience, including who you managed, what you managed, where you managed, and how you managed?
- How have you handled and adapted to change in your past roles?
- How would you approach various scenarios that might arise?
Administrative Assistant
The interview process was very straightforward. First, there was an interview with the supervisor, followed by an interview with a group of staff. If you make it to the finalist stage, you'll have an interview with HR. Watch out with HR, as they aren't clear about when salary negotiations start.
- How would you go about prioritizing your tasks?
Research Assistant
The interview process went smoothly, and I had three separate interviews with them. However, despite multiple follow-up emails, I never received any updates regarding the status of my application. The interview really went well and the least I can expect is an answer.
- What draws you to this particular role?
PhD Candidate
I met with the program director, some professors, and student hosts. It's a friendly and welcoming community, although the program is small and doesn't offer many research lab options.
- Can you discuss your past research experiences?
