Account Manager
The whole thing took about 7 weeks from applying to hearing back from HR. First, I had a phone screen with someone from Talent Acquisition. It was a pretty easy chat, no technical stuff, just asking about my work history, teamwork, and general professional background. The recruiter was really nice and professional. Then, two weeks later, I had a face-to-face interview with the Hiring Manager. They were also very professional and got right to the point with their questions. After that, there was a 2-hour series of interviews with a Director of Sales, an MD, and another Senior Account Manager. They were all great, knew their stuff, and were super professional. It felt more like a good discussion about programmatic advertising and the industry overall. I learned a lot about what the job entails daily and the company culture, which got me really excited about potentially working there. Sadly, I got a rejection email three weeks after my last interview, which was tough, but I guess I have to move on. Overall, it was a good experience.

Account Manager
Recruiter missed the first scheduled phone interview and didn't follow up for several days. She apologized and rescheduled, but missed the second call too. She followed up immediately and rescheduled again. I accepted the third call, and the phone screen went fine. After a week of silence, I asked if the position was still open. She confirmed it was and said she'd pass my resume along. That same day, she tried to set up a call with the hiring manager, who was interested. I didn't respond right away, and she then emailed again saying they preferred an in-person interview. I proceeded to the in-person interview. The company had recently IPO'd, but the vibe was down. The interview with the hiring manager was unprofessional; he ran over his allotted 30 minutes, talking to me for over an hour. He mentioned that someone was recently fired from the junior account manager role and then, awkwardly, asked if I'd be interested in that position instead. I declined, and he backtracked. Overall, I didn't get an offer and was unimpressed with the team's quality, interview process, and team structure. The Emeryville location also wasn't ideal.

Account Manager
Had an initial recruiter call, which was nice. Then I went to their HQ. I met with someone who seemed to be an Account Director. I thought it was weird that I only met with one person, especially since I have over 10 years of experience and am pretty qualified. The interview was kind of generic and not very exciting. I had to follow up a bunch before the recruiter replied, which I thought was odd since the interviewer should have at least emailed me back.
- What strategies would you use to motivate a team of junior staff members?
- Could you provide concrete examples of team motivation tactics, like organizing 'cool off-site happy hours'?
