So the first thing they did was give me a programming task to do over the weekend. The instructions were pretty brief, so I felt like I had a good chance to really show what I could do. I could use whichever programming language I wanted. After I passed that initial test, I then had meetings with the Development manager and then the CEO.

The CEO's assistant scheduled me for a phone chat with the CEO. We spoke for about 20 minutes, and he asked me about my hobbies and background. Near the end, he invited me for a second interview. The second interview went really well. I met with both the CEO and the CFO. Shon answered my questions about the company for about twenty minutes, and we discussed my writing and marketing experience. Since I lived over an hour away at the time, we talked about how my schedule might work if things progressed. I was then introduced to other team members, got a tour of the office, and learned more about the company and how things operated.

It was a laid-back interview, very open and honest. They were upfront about the job duties, the perks, and how you can move up. No tricky questions or high-pressure tactics. I talked with some of the senior leaders and it was a good experience. I did have to do a writing and research skills test, which I thought was smart for screening.
