First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at TSMC.
IT Engineer
The interview kicked off with an online HackerRank test. This test had three coding questions and a 90-minute time limit. It included two Easy questions and one Medium question. You had to pass the two Easy questions to get to the next stage. I didn't pass the coding test, so I didn't make it to the manager interview or any other rounds. Overall, the process was pretty straightforward and they communicated clearly.
- Coding questions focused on array manipulation and string processing.
- A question required handling multiple edge cases and optimizing for time complexity.
IT Engineer
The interview had 3 rounds. The 1st round was a HackerRank coding test that lasted 90 minutes with easy/medium/medium difficulty problems. The 2nd round was with the manager for 40 minutes where they talked about the job details, needing familiarity with the ABAP module of the enterprise ERP system and visual analysis, asked questions, and discussed HackerRank problem-solving ideas. The 3rd round was with HR for 30 minutes for behavioral questions.
- Can you walk me through how you approached the problems in the HackerRank test?
- Describe your project experience and your specific contributions.
- Which technologies do you have expertise in?
IT Engineer
The interview process included a coding test on Hackerrank with three problems, followed by a supervisor interview where I had to introduce myself using a PowerPoint presentation. Then there was an HR interview to discuss my personality. Finally, there was another supervisor interview, similar to the first one.
- Tell me about your work experience.
