Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at TSA (Transportation Security Administration).
Security Officer
It was a great time with lots of unique questions that really clicked when I was asked them, so I felt good and wanted to get to know the interviewer better.
- What are your strengths and what should we call you?
Security Guard
They asked me some questions about security requirements and how I would handle a problem if one came up. I was told to dress the part: slacks, a button-up shirt, and nice shoes. I also needed to make eye contact with the interviewer, listen carefully to the questions, and repeat them before answering.
- How could I contribute to the team?
Security Officer
This was a really time-consuming process, but the interview itself was easy. If you can be personable and hold a conversation, it's a quick 20 minutes. You'll be interviewed by people actively working on the floor, which is a nice chance to ask them questions.
- What's your previous work experience?
- Explain why you would be a good fit for this position.
- What motivates you to want to work for this agency?
