First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Trust Payments.
Fraud Analyst
The interview process included two remote interviews. The first was with the hiring manager, and the second was with both the manager and the head of the department. The first interview focused mostly on technical questions, while the second interview was more about general questions regarding culture fit and how you would integrate into the team and the company.
- Describe the process you would follow to investigate a new merchant.
Senior Business Development Manager
The recruiter messed up the first call which led to a bad fit in the second call. It was a huge waste of time. I have years of experience understanding the 100% outbound payments sales process from prospecting to go-live, but the hiring manager reduced it to simply 'appointment booking' and said they were looking for a 'hunter'.
- Happy to cancel the call as it was a bad fit - time wasted.
DevOps Engineer
It was a 2 stage interview process. First, a 1-hour soft skills interview covering my daily tasks, teamwork, and tools. Second, a 2-hour technical interview with short answer questions on Terraform, Docker, AWS, Network Security, and a design question about building a highly available web application across multiple regions.
- Where is the recommended place to store terraform state and what are the reasons for it?
- What strategies can be used to prevent terraform state conflicts?
- Can you explain what a docker container is?
Human Resources Administrator
The interview process started with an initial phone chat with an HR person about the company and the job, which gave me a really good vibe. Then, I had a face-to-face meeting with the HR manager. It was super comfortable, relaxed, and professional, and we talked a lot about the role and some relevant questions came up. The last part was a phone interview with the COO, which was more formal. We discussed the whole business and what I could bring to it, like my skills, motivations, and why I was interested in the position.
- What transferable skills can you bring to the role?
- Why do you want to work here?
- What motivates you?
