First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Trumaker.
Customer Support Specialist
The interview process was really fast. First, I got a call from someone on the customer support team. Then, they had me come into the office for an interview with two customer support people and the head of operations. Later that same day, they asked me to come back the next day for a half-day session. The team was great, always helpful and friendly, and they seemed to work well together. About a week after that, I got an email saying I didn't get the job. It was pretty disappointing because they'd hinted a few times that I was a sure thing, and I wasn't given any explanation. I get that's how job hunting works, though. Overall, it was a good experience.
- Can you share an example of your past customer service work?
- What motivated you to apply for this role?
Graphic Designer
I applied online and they got back to me pretty quickly to set up a phone interview. We had to reschedule which was fine. This interview was rough though, the interviewer seemed totally uninterested and was really abrupt. They didn't let me ask any questions about the company either. Some of the questions felt irrelevant to the graphic designer role, and my answers weren't great because of it, which made them even ruder. I was really hoping for this job, but given the treatment, it's not worth my time.
- What aspect of the current website would you enhance?
- Can you identify one area for improvement on the current website?
Outfitter
I began my job search a few weeks before I graduated from college. My first step was a phone interview, which went well. Once I got back from school, I was able to quickly secure an in-person interview at their San Francisco office. After my interview, I never heard back from them. I sent a follow-up email a week later, and then another one the week after that. I understand not having the bandwidth to reply to everyone who applies online, but to bring me in for an interview and then ghost me is completely unprofessional.
- I don't recall the specific questions asked as it was some time ago.
Outfitter
The interview process wasn't too bad. It's a 3-step process. First, you have a phone interview. Then, that turns into an interview where you meet with the sales manager, and he's really nice. After that, you'll have another interview where you'll meet with him again, and then a couple of Outfitters will talk to you afterwards too. It's not too hard!
- How do you find new clients?
- Are you comfortable approaching strangers to ask for their business cards?
