Interview at Trulucks in Chicago. The interviewer was inflexible about shift and day preferences, asking for 2-3 desired days off. They offered a part-time, fill-in role instead. I wanted full-time, to work holidays (no extra pay or PTO), and to choose my own days off, but they weren't accommodating of my needs. The interviewer was rude, kept cutting me off, and made me repeat myself because they weren't listening.

I filled out an online application and then did a psych evaluation. After that, I had a sit down with a manager. If I passed that, I had another interview with a manager where we went over 14 questions.

The interview process was quite dramatic and built up over several steps/days. It was impressive and unlike anything I've experienced before. You get sucked into all the hoopla, but it's impressive nonetheless.

After an initial phone call with the Head of Operations, I sat down with the head chef and general manager. Then I had a 4-hour working interview at the restaurant. They offered me the job over the phone and I signed the contract there. They also flew me to Dallas for a day to work with the head chef and Head of Operations at their Dallas location. A drug screen was one of the final steps before the offer.
