First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Tru Vue.
HR Business Partner
I had an initial phone chat with HR, then 3 video interviews which included one with the company President, and also an office interview with 2 people face-to-face. Everything was going super well and they kept saying my background was a great match for the role. The HR Director even told me she felt I was a perfect fit. I also felt my video chat with the President went well. But then, after that, all communication just stopped and I heard absolutely nothing. When I followed up for feedback, I got a really cold, brief, and curt email saying I wasn't chosen. It’s disappointing because when someone invests that much time in the interview process, takes time off work to come to your office, and even speaks with the President, they at least deserve a polite phone call to let them know they didn't get the job. My view of the company was great before, but now it's really negative. My advice: stop leading candidates on by telling them they're a great fit, then suddenly become distant like they did something wrong.
- Can you describe your background in labor relations?
- What's your experience with payroll and Workday?
- How would you manage a situation with an employee who performs well but spends significant time gossiping?
HR Manager
The interview process involved a phone screen with the recruiter, followed by an onsite visit for interviews with facility leaders and the head of HR.
- When you join a new company, how do you go about building relationships with both team members and leaders? Share examples of successful and unsuccessful attempts.
Human Resources Administrative Assistant
It started with a phone screen, about an hour long. Then I had my first round of interviews with the HR Rep and HR Manager. After that, I met with the VP of Operations, Plant Controller, and the HR Manager again. I got a tour of the facility during that second interview and then got the offer the following week.
- Why are you interested in this role?
Marketing Analyst
I talked with HR and the hiring manager over the phone to learn more about the job and how my skills fit. Then I had an in-person interview, followed by a second round with some other people. Everyone was really nice and it wasn't too stressful.
- Can you describe a marketing promotion you created and carried out? What was in your plan? What made it work well, and how could it have been improved?
