TRU Simulation + Training Interview Questions
& Process

I applied for this role on the company website and it took about 3 months to hear back. A recruiter called me and offered me an interview with the Aircraft Systems Simulation Manager. The in-person interview went well, and we discussed my past experience, what the job entails, and the team's situation. The manager was really nice and patient. After that, I had to complete two C++ tests. Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with circuit diagrams, so I didn't do great on that part. The manager said he'd let me know the results in about a week, but I'm still waiting.

I submitted my resume and then spoke with an engineer at a campus career fair. About two weeks later, someone from the company reached out for an interview. The interview was with the same engineer I met at the job fair, who is the managing engineer for the avionics department. After that, I didn't hear back, and after about 4 weeks, I stopped waiting for the job. The interview started with general questions about my interest in the field and my technical abilities. They also asked about my academic background and qualifications. Then, I had to do two programming tests.

It was a really nice interviewer. The interview happened in the afternoon. It started with questions about my school background and related courses. Then, they asked about projects on my CV. After that, they asked some questions about specific parts I used or learned in my courses or projects. The whole process took about 3 to 4 weeks. My advice is to make sure you understand your courses and projects very well before talking about them.

So, I had two managers interview me, one for operations and one for technical. They were nice enough but had a bad attitude. They really dug into my CV, focusing on tiny details and expecting detailed explanations. For example, if I mentioned attending meetings about new tech, they'd ask for specifics like who ran the meeting or its location.
