First, I had an interview with the Tech Lead, which went really well. After that, there was a formal presentation followed by a casual chat with the CXO. Unfortunately, the CXO seemed unprepared and uninterested in my background. Their responses to my questions about growth, culture, and daily tasks felt evasive and defensive, which was off-putting. About three weeks later, I got a standard rejection email.

So, the first step was this phone screening interview for the IT Supervisor role, which kicked off around 11 am EST and wrapped up by 11:20 am. It was a bit weird because they asked if I had questions for them right at the beginning, not at the end like usual, which made me wonder about the whole process. Then, they asked me to go over my resume. After that, I had to rate myself from 1 to 10 on how well I knew stuff like AWS, Azure, Office, Exchange, MS Teams, and NOC. They also asked about my salary expectations; the job ad on Indeed said $70k-$80k, so I said $75k. Oh, and the ad said it was remote, but the interviewer told me it's actually hybrid, which was a surprise. Got a rejection email at 2 pm EST, but get this – it was for an IT Manager position, not the IT Supervisor one I applied for. That really made me question if this whole thing was legit.

I interviewed with the person who would be my direct boss in Toronto, who also happened to be the CEO's wife. That was fine. Then I spoke with another person who would be my "Office Boss" in NYC, which was also okay. After that, I had to create and deliver a presentation. The tricky part was that I didn't have access to any information from the company website or any other materials. While that was manageable, I was then criticized for not knowing certain details that I had absolutely no way of finding out. After going through that, I realized it wasn't my top choice for a job.
