Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at trivago.
Sales Operations
The interview process was really professional, thorough, and totally pleasant. I got to meet various team members, which felt like a good chance for me to check out the role just as much as they were checking me out. The case study was reasonable and straightforward. They were really nice about travel and scheduling. Overall, it was a great interview experience.
- How would you collaborate with different teams and stakeholders given your understanding of this position?
Sales
I applied online through Trivago's website and got an email invitation for a video interview on their platform. It involved recording myself answering a few questions within a couple of minutes each. I found it a bit stressful but also funny. I prepared by researching the company and the sales department, writing down potential questions and answers, as most of them can be found online. The next step was a Skype interview with an HR recruiter. She was very pleasant, but I didn't feel very comfortable with this type of interview, getting the impression they might have already found someone or she wasn't very engaged with what I was saying. I asked a few questions to better understand the role, and she seemed impatient and annoyed. The interview concluded in just 20 minutes. They mentioned they'd get back to me within two weeks regarding an offer. I received an email response after 10 days, which I felt was a bit long. The whole process from the start to the offer rejection took about a month.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- What makes you a good fit for this role?
- What are your expectations for this position? How many calls can you make in an hour?
