The interview process involved a recruiter screen, a hiring manager interview, and a panel interview. There were both virtual and in-person meetings. The interviewers were very friendly and welcoming. I was kept well-informed about the interview process and received feedback throughout.

Had a first stage with the recruiter, but technical issues made it hard to hear her. It went okay though. Then I had a second stage with someone on the team who did the same role but for a different language. The recruiter said it was just about my CV and skills and I didn't need to prep. But this person had a lot of questions and seemed to want really specific answers, which is fair, but a heads-up would've been good. It was mostly behavioral. The interviewer seemed bored and didn't want to be there, constantly looking at another screen for the next question, making it impossible to read her. She made me super uncomfortable and wasn't welcoming. When I asked for examples for a question so I could give the perfect answer, she said 'it's your interview, not mine'. Also, when I asked questions at the end about why the role was open and why they needed someone to work in another language they weren't a native speaker of, her answer was confusing. I felt confused and didn't really do my best. It could've been better if they told me what to focus on and if she hadn't made me so uncomfortable. She never smiled. After two stages, I got a generic no-reply email saying they weren't moving forward with my application. I was expecting a more personal follow-up from one of the recruiters I'd been talking to, with some actual feedback.

So the interview process had 4 rounds in total. First, I chatted with HR over the phone to check if my background and career aspirations lined up with the job. Then, I had a video call with the hiring manager to get more details about the position and the team, and to talk about my experience. After that, I had video meetings with leaders from three other departments to see how I handle cross-functional work. Finally, I met with the head of the business division via video call to discuss the company's future plans and objectives for the team. Everyone I met was super smart and willing to share their time. They dug deeper than just my resume and asked questions that let me show how I've applied key skills in my past jobs. The whole thing was pretty fast, taking just 3 weeks, and they always told me what the next steps were without me needing to ask.
