First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Trinitas Regional Medical Center.
Nursing Assistant
I applied online. About a week later, HR reached out for an initial interview, which was mostly about my resume and understanding the job. Then, I had a second interview with the nurse manager. This one was more about fit and hypothetical situations. Honestly, I didn't click with the nurse manager at all. Within a couple of minutes, I knew I wouldn't want to work on that unit because of her demeanor. She was pretty rude and kept smirking. I was actually surprised to get an offer, but I declined right away. It seems like they're looking for someone who just does what they're told, no questions asked – someone totally and completely subservient.
- Can you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?
- Imagine you're assisting a patient, and the patient in the next bed needs help simultaneously. At the same time, a nurse asks you to assist with another patient down the hall. How would you respond?
- After you've taken a patient's vital signs, the nurse asks you to retake them. What is your course of action?
Receptionist
The process is awful. HR is discriminatory, they don’t seem to want to hire students even if they are overqualified. They reject applications so fast it’s impossible they reviewed them. It’s a shame they’d rather be short-staffed than hire and train overqualified people with a good work ethic. Trinitas Regional Medical Center’s HR team doesn’t care if people can find and receive top-quality medical care, nor do they care to hire efficient staff, regardless of bilingualism, experience with at-risk youth, or other qualifications.
- Are you able to speak more than one language?
- Do you have at least one year of experience in customer service?
- Do you meet the requirement of having a High School Diploma or equivalent?
Family Specialist
It was a really comfortable setting, and the two people interviewing me, who were a supervisor and an employee, were warm and friendly. They asked me about my experience and why I wanted to work there, emphasizing the need for people who genuinely care about the children and their welfare. I wasn't nervous because they presented me with case scenarios involving children, and I had plenty of experience to draw upon.
- Can you tell me about your years of experience?
Exercise Physiologist
It was the standard process that every hospital does. First, they called me on the phone. Then, I had two interviews inside the department. After that, I had an interview with the Hospital Personnel Department. Once I accepted the offer, I went through the usual hospital drug screening and physical.
- Could you discuss your strengths?
- Could you discuss your weaknesses?
