First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Trine University.
Communications Coordinator
It was inviting and comfortable. There was a bit of small talk before questions to help me feel comfortable and open. They genuinely seemed to want to get to know me.
- What makes you want to work in higher education?
Instructor
It was pretty messy trying to get the interview scheduled. When we did interview, the people interviewing me didn't seem super excited about the job or what it would be like for the person hired.
- What made you decide to apply for this position?
Student Caller
It wasn't bad, it was pretty easy to get hired. They don’t really care, you just have to be a student and willing. It’s an easy job that will prepare you for future sales positions. Not a lot of questions, like I said, super easy.
- Would you be willing to cold call people?
Help Desk Technologist
The Supervisor of the Help Desk Technologist position reached out to me via email. After we established a connection via email, I was invited to the University for an interview. It was great to see a woman in a supervisory role for a technology position. I left that interview feeling very confident. Then, I interviewed with the Dean, who further boosted my confidence.
- No difficult or unexpected questions were asked as I make an effort to prepare for all possibilities.
- I consistently provide honest answers, even if I suspect they might not be the desired ones.
