First, I had an hour-long phone call with a recruiter. We talked through my resume and they asked about my mechanical aptitude and technical skills. Next, I had a Zoom meeting with the hiring manager. This felt more like a casual chat to get to know each other, rather than a formal interview. They didn't ask me any questions but did share information about the company and the job. Finally, an in-person interview was set up, which also included a tour of the facility.

Recruiter reached out via email about availability, and I responded quickly. After a week of no reply, they tried to schedule an interview for the very next day. We finally set up a screening call for a couple of days later. It seemed like a standard screening. Then, a 30-minute interview was set up with the hiring manager, supervisor, and director for the following week. However, only the manager showed up. They asked some basic questions and answered my questions. I was told I'd hear back within the week, but I didn't. When I followed up, the recruiter said the manager was still deciding and would update me. The job was closed, and I never heard back. Honestly, a pretty unprofessional process. Really says something.

It was a really slow hiring process even though the hiring manager wanted it to be quick. Everyone was nice but the communication was not great. I started with a phone screening with HR in November. Then I had a phone interview with the hiring manager in December. Finally, I did an in-person interview with someone from product marketing in January. I didn't hear back for a few weeks, so I emailed and called the recruiter to check on the status. The recruiter left me a voicemail saying I was still being considered and they wanted to continue the process. It's now March and I still haven't heard anything more. I guess it's not a priority role, which is fine, but I wish there had been better communication since I spent a lot of time on this.

It started with an initial phone screen. The HR person seemed more like a salesperson trying to sell me the job than genuinely interested in learning about me. Despite this, I felt it was a good opportunity and decided to continue. Next, there was another phone interview with a Regional Director. They asked typical project management questions and inquired about my past experience managing a Biomed shop. The final interview was face-to-face with one of the Area Vice Presidents at the corporate office. I expected this to be the hardest part, but surprisingly, I wasn't asked anything about my hospital experience. The focus was on whether I'd relocate to a state with a current need and what my expectations were regarding relocation. Overall, the interview process was quite easy, and it felt like they were really eager to hire someone quickly.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • Tell me about your previous experience managing a Biomed shop.
  • Would you be open to relocating to a state where we have a need?
  • What are your thoughts on relocation expectations?
