Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Tricor.
Accountant
I had an online interview with some Partners. It felt pretty stressful, and one of the partners kept cutting me off. It was a pretty long interview that covered technical problems and my previous working experience.
- What technical aspects of taxation do you have experience with?
- Can you discuss your previous work experiences in detail?
Payroll Specialist
I was waiting to hear back after the interview process, but the Malaysia KL team lead and Singapore senior payroll specialist didn't reply. I emailed them multiple times about the status, but received no response. When I emailed publicly, they claimed to be out of office. My suggestion to these recruiters is to please inform interviewees if they've been selected or rejected. It's not a difficult task to let them know, as they hold onto hope of being selected and invest their time in the interview.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- Do you have any questions about payroll?
- What are your current job responsibilities?
Accountant
The interviewer was really genuine, but there were definitely some red flags about the company. It seems like they're desperate to hire, which isn't a great sign. The attitude of expecting fresh grads to work overtime so they can 'learn more' is pretty unpleasant. She also mentioned that a lot of people left during their probation because they couldn't handle the stress. This really shows the kind of work environment they have, and it's concerning that the interviewer doesn't seem to plan on improving it.
- What makes you want to apply here instead of pursuing opportunities with the Big 4 companies?
