The web design team reviewed my portfolio and inquired about my expertise with design and development tools, including Adobe Creative Suite and Figma. They asked typical questions to assess my skills and see if my workflow matched theirs. I was also given an unpaid assignment to build a homepage from a design file on a test environment, using only the Divi builder. After I submitted the assessment, I didn't get any feedback from the web design team. I only learned that my application wasn't moving forward from the admin who posted the job about a week after I submitted the assessment.

The interview process was pretty straightforward and moved fast. I went through 2 rounds of interviews with 4 different people total. We spent about half the time talking about me and the other half talking about the company. They communicated really quickly and clearly. Applying was also super easy.

I was contacted by someone at the company to interview with company co-founder Dean Trevelino. The two of us spoke for about 40 minutes about the jobs, discussed my background, my hopes for the future and the history of the company and his philosophy. About two weeks later, I was called in for a second interview with four T/K managers. We went into more detail about the job, expectations, my background and history and the like. The talk lasted about 40 minutes. After about a week, I heard back from a T/K manager, saying the team liked my enthusiasm and good attitude, and that I brought a lot to the table, but that I wasn't the perfect fit. That's okay. I'm just happy to make it that far in the process, and I figured I was a bit of a longshot. Hopefully, I can get a second chance with them down the road.

The interview seemed to go okay. I spoke with two people from the team, and they asked some good questions. They didn't explain the job very clearly though, it sounded like it was the opposite of what I expected. They said I'd hear back in about a week. Three weeks later, I still hadn't heard anything. I followed up and found out they hired someone else who didn't have PR experience but had a bunch of other skills. I wish they would have just told me my background wasn't a good fit. My advice for managers is to keep people in the loop.
