It started with a recruiter screen, then I chatted with the hiring manager about my past projects and how I'd fit with the company and team. After that, I had a take-home assignment. Later, I met with the hiring manager and an engineer to go over the take-home and make some quick edits. Finally, there was a casual meet and greet with the team and a co-founder. The take-home was pretty practical, using Django and Vue to build an API that turns numbers into their English word form and shows it on the front end. No leetcode stuff. In the follow-up chat, they wanted me to fix any bugs and add a minor extra feature. Things seemed to be going okay until I met the co-founder. They came off as arrogant and got defensive when I asked some tougher questions about the company's finances and who their competitors are. The co-founder basically said I shouldn't be asking that kind of stuff, which was weird because I've asked similar questions to other founders and higher-ups at startups, and they've always been happy to answer without getting defensive. Then, later that day, my interview with the CTO got canceled out of the blue. I had to chase down my recruiter to find out they'd decided to go with someone else. It was a disappointing end, especially after investing so much time in the process. I expected to be treated with a bit more respect. Honestly, I'd probably avoid this company if I were you.

I talked to 6 different people. It was a mess and I had to keep asking what was going on. It took more than a month. They offered me the job then took it back, and surprise, I had to ask to find out. So unprofessional and annoying.

The process was pretty efficient and moved along nicely. The recruiter was really professional and got back to me quickly with feedback and to set up the next interviews. The people I interviewed with were also very professional.

It was on Zoom and pretty quick and easy. It took about 30 minutes and the interviewer was super friendly. They let you know on the call if you are hired right away or not.
