After a solid phone screen with the recruiter, she let me know I'd hear back the following week. That was about five weeks ago. It's fine to reject candidates, but getting back to people you've spoken to and promised a follow-up is just the basic level of respect. I wouldn't want to work for a place that can't even send out an automated rejection notice to candidates.

It was a good experience overall, though quite long with several interviews. The process started with a recruiter phone call where we chatted about why I was looking, my resume, and they gave me a good rundown of the company and its values. It was an hour long, and I got to ask questions about company direction, which made me excited. I wish I'd gotten more details about role expectations then, but that came later. Next, I had a Zoom interview with the CRO, who gave me a better sense of the role and asked more detailed questions than the recruiter. I still would have liked more specific expectations, but I get that's how startups are. Then, I interviewed via Zoom with the Sales Manager and Director of Customer Services. These were very behavior-focused, more like a STAR interview format, though I understood the position better from their questions. The recruiter had prepped me for this. The recruiter later told me I didn't get selected because they went with someone who had more SaaS experience, which was a bummer since I was really interested in Treez. It was a good experience overall, just wish I'd gotten the job after all the time I put in.

I went through 3 interview rounds. Communication was a bit weak. After the 3rd round, I'd already turned down 2 other job offers, and I was still waiting to hear back from anyone. Nobody ever got back to me to tell me ANYTHING, not even after I followed up. It wasn't just unprofessional, it felt personally insulting and a massive waste of my time because I desperately needed a job.

I was reached out to by the recruiter after I applied for the job. I had a phone screen with her, which was alright. It felt like we were just going through the motions. She mentioned she'd finish up with the other phone screens and then let me know, but I never heard back from her. The phone screen felt a bit cold and robotic, so I wasn't upset about not moving on, but being ghosted is never okay and it gives the whole HR/TA field a bad name.
