First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Tree Top.
Accountant
First, you will have a phone interview and if you pass that, you will interview in person with 3 different accountants separately. You will meet with a staff accountant, a controller, and a Financial Specialist. They will ask you a mix of behavioral and technical questions.
- What made you choose accounting as a career?
Production Supervisor
I sent in my application online and then the very next day, the corporate recruiter from Tree Top called me. It was super fast! We scheduled an onsite interview after I did a phone screen with two of the managers. I got to Selah the afternoon before my interview and stayed at a hotel. I had some free time so I went to a nearby Walmart and bought a bottle of Tree Top juice. After trying it, I knew this was the place for me, it was so good! I even mixed some alcohol with it and it was great. The next day, I was a little late getting to the plant for my interview, probably because I was a bit hungover. I had a panel interview with James, Jodee, Andy, and Bryan. I was a bit nervous because I really just wanted to see the plant and drink more juice, but I had to answer their questions first. After our meeting, I toured the plant and found out it was off-season, so there was no production happening and no juice anywhere. Before I left, I saw a biologist testing some product that was on hold and managed to get some to drink. I ended up getting hired and was super happy every day, drinking a ton of juice while I worked.
- What makes you want to be in the food and beverage industry?
- What are your future aspirations for the next 5-10 years?
Quality Supervisor
I started with a quick phone screen from HR. Then, I had a video interview that was shared with the team. This video interview was pretty unique; a question would pop up, and I had a set amount of time to answer it. There were about five questions in total. Soon after, I had a phone interview with the HR specialist for the specific site and the QA manager. I got a call for an on-site interview not long after that. The on-site interview lasted two hours with the QA manager and plant manager. We went over my resume in more detail and they asked me some situational questions. After the interview, they gave me a tour of the facility. From my interactions, it seems like a great place to work, as everyone seemed really happy with their jobs and was very friendly.
- Can you describe your previous work experience?
QC Technician
Applied online and got a call from the HR manager about 6 weeks later to set up an in-person interview for that same week. I interviewed with the QA supervisor, plant manager, and HR. They asked about my education and experience, plus a lot of scenario questions, some were pretty tough so make sure to have examples ready. I asked for a lab tour and they gave me one, not sure if they always do that though. The QA supervisor seemed really into the industry, which felt like a good sign. The plant manager does have an accent like someone else mentioned, just gotta listen close, but she was nice and it wasn't a problem for me.
- Tell me about a time you had to act quickly or get others to notice something urgent.
- What about the food industry really gets you excited?
