Data Analyst Intern
It was a super organized and smooth interview process over Google Meet. They asked basic questions about my behavior and past projects, also about my education. Plus, they threw in some domain-specific questions about SQL, PowerBi, and Excel.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- Could you tell us about your behavioral background and previous projects?
- What can you tell us about your educational background?
QA Engineer
The interview process began with a basic aptitude round, followed by a technical round. The third round was a technical and managerial round conducted by the co-founder. I received feedback the same day indicating two more rounds with the other co-founders. While the initial stages were positive, the fourth round felt like a waste. Despite the role being for a QA Engineer, the questions focused on accounting and calculations, such as Selling Price, Cost Price, and Profit Percentage, which seemed irrelevant. I received a rejection email the same day after the fourth round, containing generic text. I don't recommend investing time in this process given the multiple rounds and a disappointing rejection.

Sales Executive
The owner gave a lot of time for the interview, which I appreciated. They seem to have a clear vision to solve a problem. However, the interview process was the most challenging and unclear I've ever faced. I've done about 33 interviews and passed all of them, but this was the only one that wasn't clear or satisfactory. Even though I don't have the same education as the IIT graduates, I have strategic ideas that could work. They were hiring for a sales role in Coimbatore, which is different from Pune, Mumbai, or Chennai. Expecting strategic thinking like an SP Jain graduate for a sales role like this is unrealistic. Salespeople don't need to know as much as business owners. During the interview, they presented hypothetical situations. I mentioned my real-world experience from seven other interviews to be upfront. I think interviews should be more comprehensive and actually match the job requirements. Asking deep sales psychology questions might not be for everyone. I'm not here to give a psychology analysis from books like 'The Psychology of Selling' or by Neil Rackham. Sales professionals should be treated as sales professionals, not as venture capitalists looking at startups.
- How can I effectively sell myself to the company owner, positioning myself as the product they should hire?
Customer Success Manager
So, I wanted to share my interview experience for the Customer Manager position to help others. There were five rounds in total. It started with an HR screening, then a virtual interview, followed by an assessment, and then two more virtual rounds to wrap it up. Even though I passed all the interview parts, the part about the compensation was a letdown. The offer was about 36% less than what I told them I expected right from the start. It felt like all the effort and time I put in were wasted because of this gap. Since I hadn't quit my current job yet, I decided not to move forward with them. Just a heads-up, they only talk about the package after you've finished all the interviews, and they'll only send an offer letter if you agree to their terms. So, keep this in mind when you interview with them.
- In the assessment round, I worked on a case study, drafted an email, and responded to some SQL queries.
- During the virtual interview, I was asked scenario-based questions to gauge my expertise and understanding.
