Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at TransUnion.

The interview went well, there were risk assessments and I was in constant communication with the recruiter who ghosted me after. It was a very disappointing experience as I was looking forward to feedback even if I didn’t get the job.
- How would you handle a situation with an angry client?

First, I had a phone screen with a recruiter. Then, I had a video interview with the hiring manager. After that, there was a panel interview, which turned out to be four separate interviews with different people in the company. While the hiring manager was great, three out of the four panelists were really unprofessional. Two of them straight-up said that leadership is awful and offers no guidance, and one was swearing the whole time. Another panelist was clearly doing other work while we were talking. This experience really showed me what the company culture is like. Honestly, I probably wouldn't have accepted the job even if they offered it.
- What about this position caught your eye?
- Can you share the biggest challenge you faced in your last job?
- Describe a time you mentored someone.

The hiring journey is quite thorough. It kicks off with the HR Selection Team, then goes straight to the immediate supervisor. After that, you'll meet with business leaders and heads of cross-functional teams, plus the supervisor's manager. This process really helps candidates get a feel for the company's vision, the challenges ahead, and the team dynamics. They put a lot of effort into hiring because they really care about their employees and want to find the perfect match. Definitely check out their website to see what's new and what they're focused on business-wise.
- Can you detail your achievements and the ROI you delivered?
