I had multiple interviews across London and NY, which were scheduled very late in the evenings (8pm-9.30pm) for two consecutive weeks due to scheduling constraints. I made it to the HR/pre-offer stage. Afterward, I was informed that my inquiries about hybrid working and offsite visits were considered misaligned with the company's culture, leading to my rejection. Despite asking numerous standard HR-related questions, this was the sole feedback provided, which I find quite discouraging given the effort invested.

I sent in my Resume through Handshake and heard back within a week about a first interview. It was 30 minutes long with an associate actuary at TransRe. A week after that, I got invited to the final round which consisted of three 30-minute interviews with actuaries in a different department at TransRe. About two weeks after the final interview, I got an offer and had 24 hours to accept. The interviews felt pretty casual and mostly covered skills, past experience, and my education. All the interviewers asked pretty much the same things and gave similar answers when I asked about TransRe, which matched what I saw on Glassdoor.

The interview process started with a recruiter call, where a "truck question" was used to determine my eligibility without any personal introduction. I was also sent the wrong job specification. All communication was through the recruiter, with no direct contact from the company. Although I was told I'd hear back by the end of the week, the recruiter called the next morning to inform me I wasn't considered. The whole experience felt very unprofessional.

I interviewed twice for two different positions, meeting different interviewers each time, and I found both experiences to be genuinely positive. The interview style was traditional, focusing on competency-based questions to assess my strengths and weaknesses. A significant portion of the interview involved a review of my CV. I was particularly impressed that they dedicated a good amount of time to explaining the company and the nature of the role.
