Senior Data Engineer
So there are 3 stages in the interview process, basically a screening call, then a technical interview, then HR, and then if all goes well, you get an offer. Of course, this can change a bit depending on the specific job you're applying for. The whole thing usually takes about 2-3 weeks.

Software Engineer
The initial phone chat with HR and the hiring manager went well. We talked about typical things like what I expect for salary and a deep dive into my past work. It was a good talk, and I think I did a good job showing my skills. Now I'm waiting for the next step and hope I made a good impression. Excited about potentially talking more.

Technical Support Engineer
I was reached out to by HR on LinkedIn and we had a phone interview where she asked some basic questions. It was a pretty chill and positive chat. Afterward, she mentioned passing my details along to the hiring team. Through email exchanges, I felt the HR rep wasn't always the best with communication and scheduling, but I did get to interview. The interview itself was straightforward, and I wasn't hit with any specific technical questions. Instead, I was asked about work situations and how I'd best manage them. I thought it went well and felt positive, but after that, the HR rep totally ghosted me. I never heard back about whether they picked someone else or anything. I tried reaching out on LinkedIn three times. It's pretty unprofessional not to at least let a candidate know they've moved on. But maybe the HR rep was just messing up and not replying. Not cool.

Do Not Waste Your Time
I applied and heard back for a phone screen about a week later, which went well. The week after that, I had my second interview with the hiring manager. During that first-round interview, he was kind of unsure how many interviews there'd be. We had a good chat though. He admitted he hadn't even looked at my resume yet, so a lot of it was him just asking me stuff as it came to him, but it was fine. About two-thirds of the way through, he said I'd be moving on to the second round. He wasn't sure on the timeline for the whole hiring process, but said not to get discouraged if it took longer than I thought. He also mentioned the recruiter would be in touch later that day or the next. It's been a week and I haven't heard anything, so I reached out to the recruiter who didn't reply. The following week, I followed up with the HM, which was two weeks after my first interview with him. He said first-round interviews were still happening and second-round interviews would likely start scheduling in the next couple of weeks. A month plus for one round of interviews for a non-government company felt weird, but I was still interested. Fast forward three weeks and still no word from anyone. I tried the recruiter again, and again, no response. A week later, I messaged the HM again asking the same question, and two days later, I got an email from the recruiter saying I wasn't moving forward. This was even though the HM had literally told me in my interview that I was moving to the second round. This happened two months after I applied, and even though the initial few interview stages moved pretty fast. This was probably the most drawn-out and uncommunicative hiring process ever. The recruiter was completely silent from when she scheduled my first interview until she told me I was out - even though the HM said otherwise. So disrespectful and dishonest. Don't bother applying.
- Can you tell me about the projects you've managed?
