The interview process was very organized, straightforward, and simple. I first had a call with the hiring manager for an initial interview. After passing that, I then spoke with the District Manager via video call. The final step was an in-person interview with the store manager.

First, I had to take an online IQ and personality test, which was timed. After passing those, the interview process went like this: a phone interview, then an in-person interview, then another phone interview, and finally a web conference interview. They actually brought me in for a different job than what was advertised, and they didn't really mention it. I noticed the difference in the job description and asked about it, but they didn't give me much information. After completing all the assessments and interviews, I had to fill out a pre-employment packet that authorized them to check my credit, criminal history, contact landlords, etc. None of that was an issue. Even after all this time I spent on it, they never even had the professional courtesy to tell me they decided to go with another candidate. I heard nothing. I did send a follow-up thank you email asking if they had any other questions for me, and the only response I got was "we are still going through the interview process, thank you." After that, I honestly didn't care if I heard back. I never did.

Applied for a Loss Prevention Associate job at TrailersPlus. The role has been open for ages and I suspect it's because I'm overqualified, despite the ad saying they're open to entry-level folks. I have 23 years of experience, a solid background, and good references. My cover letter even stressed I was looking for an entry-level gig, not a lot of money, and was serious about staying long-term. The issue is I was dismissed without even an interview. While they can hire whoever they want, it feels unprofessional to assume I'm too expensive or will jump ship. I was aiming for lower responsibility, long-term employment and would have put in maximum effort for minimum wage, even though they offer more. Maybe they want someone totally different, but if so, they should communicate professionally rather than just saying 'overqualified.' Loss prevention is about controlling shrink, and I could have delivered huge ROI, but didn't even get an interview. I could handle a rejection after an interview, but an email saying I'm not considered for being overqualified is unprofessional, especially for a role open for months. It's like if LeBron James offered to play for your team for free and you said no because he's too good. I've since taken another job that pays much more, though I preferred TrailersPlus. Guess their culture isn't for me.

It was a quick interview, and they asked common questions. It was one of the easiest interviews I've ever done. After finishing, I asked when I'd hear back, and they said the following week, but I actually heard back the same day.
