I got an email from their recruiter and scheduled a call. The first call was pretty basic. At the end, he asked if I had questions, but he couldn't answer simple things about the company, like department structure, even though he's in HR. He then suggested I speak with his boss. A few days later, I had a call with another recruiter. She didn't ask me anything about my experience and only focused on why I wanted to leave my current job. I told her I didn't want to speak negatively about my current employer and had already explained my reasons for moving. She also couldn't answer questions about team structure. She said she'd recommend me to the Head of HR, but I never heard back. The whole process left a bad impression, and I should note both recruiters were from the parent company 'Engine', which has a poor reputation.

I met with 4 different employees, and had to give the same answers to the same questions to each of them. By the third one, I was getting pretty tired of talking. They asked me things like where I saw myself fitting in and growing here, and after I answered, they'd remind me that I'd have to start from the bottom and focus on that. The whole thing took about two hours. I didn't hear back for a month, and then they told me they decided to go with someone else.

Submitted my info online and heard through an acquaintance about high freelancer hiring and churn. An interviewer reached out via email for a phone interview later that day. The interview was brief, and the interviewer seemed distracted, even taking personal cell calls and putting me on hold twice. Given it was for a technical role, being asked about what makes me happy in a general sense made me want to end the call. I left the conversation not interested, though I hope the HR rep was just having an off day, it did seem to confirm what I'd heard about the company.

Went through a few phone calls, then they looked at my portfolio. After that, I had some meetings with senior management, and then met the team. There was one easy meeting, and then a bigger meeting with 16 people which could have been tough but they were super cool so it felt like just hanging out.
