The interview process included a phone technical interview with the Software Lead, a pair programming session with a teammate, another technical interview, and a final interview with the managers. It was a straightforward process. Be aware that they use plain core Java and you might end up working on it. The interviewer mentioned they don't use Spring because they consider it overhead. I realized at that point it wasn't for me since they rely entirely on Java for heavy lifting, even using Java Swing for the front end, which felt outdated.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I went through several interview stages, totaling about 4-5 hours. I interviewed with directors and heads of sales, account management, and an MD. They gave a thorough overview of the company's history, current status, and future plans, and showed a demo of the TradeSmart EMS product. I also learned about some past issues with the former CEO, Buhanic, which might explain some negative reviews. The interviews were conducted in a positive and relaxed atmosphere, with a good mix of business and technical discussions.

Behavioral Technical

The first step was a 1-hour phone chat with the Director of Technology, mostly about my CV and background, not very technical. A week later, I had a second phone interview, this time with a Data Modeller from New York, and we went over technical database topics like indexes, data integrity, and performance. Another week on, I went to the Trading Screen offices in London for two 1-hour one-on-one interviews. These mixed technical questions with standard interview stuff, like asking about my motivation for joining Trading Screen.

Behavioral Other

It was an on-site interview with a panel of managers. I spoke with various people within the organization, and they inquired about my qualifications and expectations. The process felt unstructured, with managers asking questions relevant to their specific areas. Overall, it was a positive experience, despite the job description being somewhat vague.
