First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at TradeSTAR.
Electrician
When I got there, I had to take and pass a drug test. After about 45 minutes, the interviewer called me in. They made me bend pipe, which is actually against the law, and then I finished up my new-hire paperwork and they hired me. I left their office and they stopped responding to my calls. Don't waste your time with these clowns.
- How many years of experience do you have in the electrical trade?
- What companies have you worked for previously?
Account Manager
I got contacted after submitting my resume on Zip Recruiter late Thursday evening. I was not able to call back until Tuesday. When I did, the recruiter responded unprofessionally, 'I called last week and you are calling me back today?' The job posting did not specify experience or an ideal start date. I was dismissed after saying I could not drop out of school to start working right away. The recruiter then lectured me on the sales/recruiting business without asking me any questions. Overall, it was a mediocre experience. My advice for the future--try to specify a start date on your job posting, call during business hours, and even if it doesn't seem like a good fit, be friendly and represent your company well.

Recruiter
I went through two interviews. The second one was in Houston at their corporate location. Both interviews were pretty thorough. There was a drug screen and a background check. The first interview was with the branch manager and the second interview was with some of the executives in Houston.
- What would you do if your current employer countered?
Voice and Data Technician
It was great, my recruiter a excellent person, he spoke to me with a great respect and professionalism, they did me a test in the same place and also a drug test.
