The interview process kicked off with a general phone screening where they asked basic questions about my background and checked my understanding of the company. Next, I had an in-person interview at the office. This involved questions about handling customer interactions and a review of my past roles. I met with both the team lead for the department and the Operations manager. The final interview was with the CEO and COO. This was more of a conversation about the company and the ideas I'd bring. I really enjoyed this last part because it felt like I could truly make an impact and use my skills.

The whole process was really confusing and back-and-forth. They replied to my resume super fast in December, saying they were too swamped with end-of-year stuff for a phone interview until the new year, which was fine. Then, still in December, they wanted me to schedule two phone interviews before the year was out, one with person A and one with person B. I had the chat with A. The one with B got scheduled, then cancelled, and rescheduled for the last week of December because of his schedule. Then, late on the Friday before Christmas, person C emailed wanting to talk over the next couple days, like, on Christmas weekend or the week after. I said I was free the Wednesday after Christmas, but heard nothing back. Two days later, Christmas Eve, I got another interview request from someone else at the company for that interview with C, so I sent my availability again. That same day, another email came from the company saying they were moving on with another candidate. It was nuts! But maybe it's a good thing, given how the company is reviewed – if their interview process is any indication, it's a joke. Act II: Three days later, person B, who apparently wasn't told about the rejection, called me as planned for our earlier chat!

I had a phone screening, and then a week later, three in-office interviews all on the same day. I could also reschedule my phone screening by a day. All the interviews felt like they went well, and I thought I connected with everyone. They were very conversational, so not many specific questions came up. I emailed everyone I met with after the interviews, but heard nothing back. A week later, I followed up again with the CFO who set up the interviews. I followed up two more times over a few weeks on LinkedIn, but still no reply - I was ghosted. I get that companies get busy, but it's unprofessional not to send a quick email saying you went another way.

The interview process was professional, and really focused on the specifics of the job I was interviewing for. The leadership team was clearly ready and had a clear strategy for what they were looking for to help the company keep growing. They also looked into other areas where I could potentially contribute to the business, which made me even more interested in joining. Who wouldn't want a challenge? Everything was straightforward, no unexpected surprises.
