First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at TPS.
Software Engineer
The whole interview was based on Object oriented programming and data structures. First they took a 30 min written exam and then took 30 min technical interview. I didn't expected this level for an associate position but it helped me to understand what's usually asked in an interview and now i prepare according to that
- They asked about graphs
- Asked about indexing in sql.
Software Engineer
You have to go through four interviews, two of which are technical, one with HR, and another with the Group Head. The first two interviews are super important for selection. The interview with the Group Head is a behavioral/personality interview. If you pass the first two, you have an 80% chance of getting hired. The last two interviews check your technical skills and knowledge, and also your personality - if you're serious, willing to contribute, and if you'll stay long-term or short-term. They'll also discuss salary, why you quit your last job, or why you're joining us.
- Can you explain OOP concepts?
- Tell me about Data Structures.
- Discuss SQL, specifically Self Joins, Outer and Inner Join.
Associate Software Engineer
Went through a 3-stage interview process. The first two rounds were technical onsite interviews, with the second one being with the team lead. The third round was a normal interview with a senior person. The most senior person I met in the third round was religious and an extremist Muslim. I felt he was discriminating against me due to my religion and was very rude and unprofessional.
- How to find a loop in a linked list?
- How to reverse the words in a string?
