First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Toyota Motor Corporation.
Project Manager
I had three in-person interviews, medium difficulty. They asked me about my experience and we did several practical exercises. The HR person and the area managers were also present during the interviews. The whole process was going very well and I received good feedback within the interviews. Unfortunately, they weren't able to give me more information about the process, nor feedback, nor even disqualify me. They just disappeared, even though I sent emails to find out if I was still in the running. It's been two months with no communication from them.
- Could you tell me about your past experience?
- How have you handled managing teams in your previous roles?
- Can you describe your role and responsibilities?
Construction Project Manager
The interview process involved a phone interview, then an assessment center, and finally a last interview with department heads, but I got rejected at this last stage. The assessment center and the interview were pretty standard, mostly asking why I was interested in the job/company and about past experiences where I showed certain skills. I was a bit disappointed with the lack of feedback though, especially since I had to travel to Derby twice and didn't even get reimbursed for the trip.
- What is your motivation for wanting to join Toyota?
Project Manager
There were 2 interviews: one with a recruiter, focusing on behavioural questions, and another with a senior manager from the team, where you'd get to talk with your potential future colleagues.
- Can you describe your previous projects and how you handled them?
