Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Toyota Motor Corporation.
Analyst
The interview process at Toyota usually follows a STAR format. It was conducted over Teams and wasn't overly challenging. If you're prepared with STAR-based questions, you'll do well in Toyota interviews, in addition to having the necessary technical knowledge.
- Can you share an instance where you convinced an individual or a team to adopt your approach for a task?
Pricing Analyst
I applied for the pricing analyst role at Toyota Asia Pacific via Linkedin, and the interview process was pretty standard with average questions. Although I didn't get an offer, it was a pleasant experience. The office is nicely located in the Central Business District.
- Can you tell me more about your previous experience?
Pricing Analyst
I applied through a recruiting agency. One of the interviewers seemed very bored and asked tough questions. Based on the agent's explanation, he was trying to role-play a difficult customer and see how I would react. The agent and HR kept emphasizing the importance of punctuality, but the interviewers were late. I have no issues with them being late; overemphasis and not being able to practice what is being preached just made it look like there is a double standard. You still see people going in and out of the office past 6 pm. It speaks about the culture.
- What would you do if your boss was extremely particular about something that was of least importance to you?
