First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Town of Castle Rock.
Technical Coordinator
It was a really long and tough process. First, there was a phone interview, and then an in-person meeting with the same person. The next step was a panel interview with folks from different departments. The fourth and fifth interviews were supposed to be with a Director and Assistant Town Manager, but they couldn't make it because of the weather. I had driven about 40 miles in bad weather to meet them. They didn't even tell me they weren't coming, even though their assistants had confirmed they would be there earlier that day.
- Can you describe your technical skills and knowledge level?
- What kind of experience do you have with user support?
- Which software are you skilled in using?
Administrative Assistant
There were two interviews for this role. Each interview involved a panel of people from the department and a couple of people from upper management, like Directors or Managers. Each department handles its own hiring process, which can lead to some inconsistency depending on how well HR tasks are managed within that specific department. I wasn't entirely impressed with the process; I've heard mixed things from others too.
- Can you describe a situation where you encountered a conflict at work and explain how you resolved it?
League Supervisor
At first, it was a one-on-one chat, but now it's usually two or three staff members interviewing. They mostly ask about your past experiences and how you'd deal with specific situations.
- Describe how you would manage a conflict situation while officiating a game.
