It was an easy interview with 2 rounds. The first round was with the hiring manager to go over the role and its responsibilities. The second round was a panel interview with the rest of the team where they asked behavioral questions.

Behavioral

I had a bad first interview with a senior HR person. They only talked about salary and didn't tell me anything about the job, benefits, or company culture. It seems like they have a reputation for bad communication and misrepresenting the company based on reviews. The salary range was also really low, like $40k, which is not competitive.

The interview process was straightforward and quick initially. However, there was a significant delay of a few weeks before I heard back after the first interview, and I had to initiate contact for an update. Despite the wait, the interviewers were professional and pleasant to interact with.

Behavioral Technical

So, I had this phone interview with the chief actuary and hiring manager first. Then, I had to take this LOMA computerized assessment, which is a must-pass for everyone they hire. After that, it was an in-person interview for about two and a half hours with the chief actuary, three other managers, and an HR person. They asked typical behavioral questions, plus some general insurance stuff and things about my technical skills from my resume. The company is growing and doesn't really have a set student program yet. I was a bit surprised by the exam support they offered, which is why I turned down the offer.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • Can you describe a mistake you've made?
  • Do you have any general questions about insurance?
  • What can you tell us about the technical skills listed on your resume?
