First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Total Safety.
District Manager
The interview process moved quickly, taking only two weeks from start to finish. It started with a recruiter screen, followed by a more in-depth recruiter call. Then, there was a phone interview with the General Manager. The process concluded with a face-to-face meeting and a site visit. Interestingly, my spouse accompanied me during the site visit, which also served as part of the interview, as the manager I would be replacing was present and involved.
- Can you tell me about a time you had to make a difficult decision?
Paramedic
The interview process was relaxed, with a manager who mostly asked about my experience. They were interested in honest answers about my strengths and weaknesses in the oil & gas & petro-chemical industry, acknowledging that it's impossible to know everything in such a diverse field. The initial pay offers were discouragingly low. There were also several 'Integrity & Character Based' questions.
- Would you share your salary information if an employee shared theirs with you?
Safety Specialist
The usual questions were asked during the initial interview. I walked in on a Friday and was only given 3 minutes due to a meeting the Coordinator had. I briefly described my qualifications and was called for a phone interview on Monday. We had a group interview on Wednesday, also via phone. I was hired on Friday and started the job the following Monday. It's a great office to work out of.
- Discuss your experience with Status Quo.
Business Administrator
The interview process was pretty chill, they mostly talked about the job and what they expected. I felt good about it afterward but never heard back from HR or the site manager. When I asked, they said they were still interviewing people. Then, nothing. If a company can't even send a rejection email after an in-person interview, it's probably not a place you want to work.
- Tell me about your familiarity with our company.
