First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Tosoh Quartz.
Financial Analyst
Applied online and had an initial screening call with the HR Manager. During the call, I was told they wanted to move forward with scheduling an interview with the hiring manager and that I should expect to hear back within the next couple of days to set it up. After not hearing anything, I followed up by email after one week and again after two weeks, but did not receive a response. It has now been about a month since the screening call with no communication or update on the status of the role. I understand that hiring priorities can change, but a brief update or follow-up would have been appreciated. Clearer communication throughout the process would make the experience feel more professional and respectful for candidates.
- Can you describe your experience in the manufacturing industry?
Manufacturing Engineer
The interview felt like an interrogation with three engineers around a table. They asked the same questions repeatedly without listening. The company wasted over two hours, including a shop tour, before ghosting me.
- Can you tell me about any classes you found challenging during your college studies?
Human Resources Assistant
Great interview and great people. I interviewed by phone, in person, and in a panel interview. The questions were relevant to the job and all of the interviewers made me feel comfortable. Perhaps I was too comfortable because I did not get the job. The overall interview was rated good. There was nothing inappropriate asked and I felt like I would get the job.
- What are your career aspirations for the next five years?
Product Development Engineer
Had 3 phone interviews initially with HR, managers and engineers. Then, I was flown out to the Portland, OR site about a week after the last phone interview. The onsite interview included 6 engineers, some of whom were managers. We also got a tour of the facility. It took a while to get an answer, about 3-4 weeks. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience.
- Can you tell me about your internship experience as listed on your resume?
