During the first interview, I was told that the company would prefer someone who is a PR or a Canadian citizen. I have a work permit valid for the next three years, and the job was advertised as a one-year contract, so I don't understand why they would say that. It makes me question their commitment to inclusivity and diversity if this is how they treat immigrants in Canada. Very disappointing.

Applied online with my CV and cover letter. An HR person got in touch a few days later and asked me for an interview. It took a bit for them to send over the interview details (like where and who would be there, and more about the job), but I got everything eventually. The interview itself was pretty standard, they asked usual questions about customer service, how I'd prioritize tasks, and about my communication skills. Three people from the hiring team were there, taking notes and asking questions. The interview lasted about 30 mins. After that, they gave me a test on Microsoft Word and Excel, which took almost an hour.
