The interview was a 4-hour loop, covering Behavioural, System Design, Managerial, and Coding aspects. I felt System Design was the main focus and I didn't quite meet expectations there. The Managerial round was mainly about my resume. The C++ round went deep into STL, memory management, smart pointers, and some C++ intrinsics. For System Design, they seemed to value clarity over absolute correctness. A positive note is that they provided very honest and detailed feedback on my weak areas. I'm hopeful for next time.

Behavioral Technical

The HR contact was great, really responsive. Then I had an interview with the hiring manager and another person from the team. It was a mix of behavioral and technical questions. One of the team members was pretty aggressive, trying to catch me out with 'gotcha' questions. It felt a bit confrontational when they accused me of contradicting myself. They seemed to think my answers about wanting communication from a manager and avoiding conflict meant I'd just ignore problems.

Behavioral Coding

The whole thing took about a month from applying to the offer. It was really smooth and the people were nice. I applied online. Then I had a quick call with a recruiter where we talked about my experience and the job. After that, there was a coding interview where they checked my C++ skills and how I solve problems. The interviewer was super helpful and explained stuff I didn't know. Then, I had a panel interview with the team manager. He was really friendly, and we chatted about my experience and what the job would be like. Austin from recruiting was awesome, he even answered my emails about paperwork while he was on vacation.
