First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Toray Plastics (America) Inc..
New Product Developer
I had an interview with 5 people from the NPD team in a conference room, which felt pretty standard. I got their names and looked up their backgrounds beforehand, which helped me ask better questions. They knew I was still in college and saw I was nervous, which I think showed. Everyone was really polite and didn't hit me with too many tough technical questions. They mostly went over my resume and asked about what was on it.
- Could you introduce yourself?
- Can you tell me about your resume?
- What can you tell us about the things listed on your resume?
Accounts Receivable
The first interview was with HR, and the second was with both the hiring manager and the department manager. Both went pretty well. Then they asked me to come in and do an accounting test to see if I was eligible.
- What motivated you to pursue a career in accounting?
Process Engineer
It was an onsite interview, which was a panel interview with 9 people. They asked me questions about my experience and if I had ever done an overnight shift. Other questions involved determining if I could work well in a team environment, my experience with the extrusion process, troubleshooting, and statistical process control.
- What is your biggest weakness?
Production Technician
First, there was a basic knowledge test, which should be easy if you graduated high school. After that, a panel interview with four people. Then came a drug test, background check, and a physical exam. They also have a physical ability test that's pretty tough. For example, you have to hold a squat for one minute and do as many 50lb. pick-ups as possible in a minute. Even though I'm a furniture mover in good shape, it was challenging. It's been over a month now, and I'm still waiting on the background check results. The hiring process is quite lengthy.
