Product Manager
I had a screen call with the recruiter, and it was a bit strange and made me feel uncomfortable. The recruiter insisted that I needed to recall every single metric I'd hit in every role and at every company, even if it was from five years back. It felt like they were just trying to check if I knew my CV inside out, and they'd call me out if I got any metric or number wrong.
- Can you share your experience and the metrics you accomplished at each company listed on your CV?
Product Manager
The first round was an online interview, and I thought it went well. I answered all the questions. However, they rejected me because I didn't bring up Agile, even though it wasn't explicitly asked. I had to email them to clarify that I do know Agile, explaining that I focused on the products I'd managed rather than the methodology itself. After that, they advanced me to the next round, suggesting the recruiters reviewing the video interviews might not be technical. Agile is pretty fundamental, so I didn't think to mention it unless prompted.
- Can you walk me through your career history and the products you've been involved with?
- What's your background with Agile?
Product Manager
I think these folks are time wasters and they don't even feel remorse about it despite the tons of poor reviews they've gotten so far. I'm glad I was saved from such a toxic culture. It takes reminders for you to get a response to your email, they give you a case study assessment which you submit with yet no feedback. Until one day, they wake up and email you that they've decided not to go with because they have several options. How iconic! I spent hours on this case study which you obviously want to leverage without the intention of hiring anyone!
- Could you provide a case study on Covid19 solutions for infected people?
