Corporate Recruiter
I sent my availability and was able to get through a few rounds of interviews. The process was smooth and everyone on the teams was really nice and helpful. The recruiter was there to answer any questions I had. I haven't had an experience like this where I actually knew the timelines and what to expect in a while. I'd totally apply again if another job came up.
- Tell me what you know about our company.
Software Development Engineer in Test
I had a recruiter call that lasted 30 minutes. Then, I interviewed with the Tech Lead for an hour, followed by a one-hour interview with the team. The final interview was with the Director of Engineering. After all the interviews, the director told me they'd get back to me by the end of the week, which was Wednesday. By Friday night, I hadn't heard anything. I figured I'd hear back Monday, but I didn't. So, I emailed for an update on Tuesday morning. Still no response. On Wednesday, after work hours, I got an automated email saying they'd gone with other candidates. While I get that others might have been a better fit, and I appreciate that, it was frustrating. Especially since I was told I did pretty well in the last interview and got compliments from the team. Waiting three days past their feedback deadline and then getting an automated reply instead of a personal response to my update email is just bad manners. It takes two minutes to reply, even if it's to say they chose someone else. An automated reply feels disrespectful.
- Can you describe your general methodology for functioning as an SDET engineer?
Accountant
It started with a phone interview, then I had a Zoom with the Manager. After that, I met again with the same Manager and the Senior Accountant on Zoom. The next step was another Zoom, this time with the Revenue Manager and the person who did the initial phone interview. Finally, they called me to ask how I thought it went with the team, and then they told me I didn't get the position. I would have rather gotten that news via email. That call and the question about the team made me think I might get an offer. The last few interviews felt a bit awkward because I had to meet with people I’d already spoken to, and they didn't explain why they were involved again.
- Tell me about how you handle disagreements.
- Can you describe your process for handling prepaid expenses?
- What's a professional achievement you're particularly proud of?
Product Designer
The interview process was straightforward. It started with a basic recruiter screen, followed by a hiring manager chat where I presented two case studies within a tight 45-minute timeframe, needing to be concise to leave room for questions. After that, I met with someone who I believe was the Head of Product. The questions were very specific, suggesting a low level of design maturity within the organization. Although I completed all three rounds, I had to wait over a week for the recruiter to inform me they'd offered the position to someone else, even before my final interview concluded. They probably should have just canceled my last interview. It's odd that the role is still advertised and has been reposted multiple times since my interview, with no feedback provided. I suspect it might be a ghost posting, as they didn't seem serious about filling the role and could have simply stated it wasn't a fit instead of misleading me.
- How do you handle critical feedback?
- What's your approach when starting a project with no clear guidance?
