The interview process included a Wonderlic test. It was a typical sales interview, where they treated the interview like a sales process and you were selling yourself. After a few interviews, there was a presentation component where a case study was given with time to prepare. The process felt a bit disorganized, and the sales group lacked clear direction. A major drawback was the focus on what I could do for them, lacking respect and not providing compelling reasons to join. I stopped communication after the fourth interview.

When you interview, make sure you really know your stuff when it comes to sales and cold calling. You need to show that you're eager to learn how we do things at Top Hat and that you work hard to make sure you hit your numbers. It would be a big help if you already know something about the post-secondary education field.

I was recruited via LinkedIn for a Sales position. The interview process involved a phone interview, followed by a second interview with the VP of Sales, and a pre-interview Wonderlic and Salesdrive test. After these stages, I was offered a third interview with the VP of Revenue. Unfortunately, the experience was negative and felt like a waste of time. Although I was enthusiastically offered the third interview in person and told I'd be contacted within 48 hours to schedule it, I didn't hear back for 96 hours. When I followed up, I received a generic rejection letter without any explanation. My further inquiries to the VP who offered the interview went unanswered, and another contact simply stated the position was filled, even though ads for the same role were still active. This turned out to be a good thing as I found a better job with better pay elsewhere. My advice to the company is to follow through on your commitments and at least provide a clear explanation when candidates have invested time and money (like transportation costs) to interview.
