The interview process wasn't long but it was professional. I applied online, had a phone screen, then an in-person interview, and a background check. They made an offer on the spot, but the work area was limited. Make sure you dress professionally and have a clear work history because they do check with past employment.

I got to the interview 10 minutes early, dressed well and ready. They ended up calling me in 20 minutes late, saying they were super busy. Not sure if they were actually busy or just disorganized. The interview itself was about 15 minutes long and pretty standard. The interviewers, whose names I can't recall, seemed impressed with my military background and security work history. The problem came up when they told me the pay: $12.30 an hour for an unarmed job on a college campus. I had actually applied for a full-time armed position, and they didn't seem to consider that. I felt insulted they low-balled me given my skills, so I tried to negotiate, explaining I was looking for a fair, livable wage. They basically said no, avoiding the topic. They said the offer would stand for a week and that they really liked me and hoped to hear back. I emailed right after to thank them and bring up my salary concerns again, suggesting we could agree on an amount. I thought the email was polite, but I never heard back, which I found unprofessional. It's been 5 days. Reading reviews, Top Guard doesn't seem to pay based on skill or reward officers fairly. I'm not sure I want to work there. I was making $16 an hour at a previous job and felt valued. I'm shocked places like this pay so little, especially to hardworking people with families. It explains the poverty here. I was not impressed with Top Guard Security; they seem to just want warm bodies. Professionals looking for decent pay should look elsewhere.

After I did that, I completed other steps like getting fingerprinted at the local police station and completing a drug test. Then, I was interviewed by a hiring officer. Later, I was interviewed by each site that I worked at by personnel from that specific site to verify that I would be a good fit there.
