Applied in March 2022, then got ghosted for 3 months before receiving a canned rejection email. This whole process suggests Tomtom isn't a great company to work for. I have 20 years of Java experience across various abstraction levels, which should qualify me as an expert. However, they claimed 'other candidates more closely match the requirements.' Frankly, no candidate with self-respect should tolerate being kept on hold for months, potentially waiting for another candidate to back out. It's unprofessional.

I got a Codility test with two Java coding questions and one SQL query question. I got the SQL query and one coding question right, but I didn't fully solve the second coding question. I haven't heard back from HR, so I guess it didn't matter how I did in the end. The Codility results showed 90% for one coding question and 100% for the SQL query. The other coding question wasn't attempted. That's why I didn't get a call. So, you have to complete all the questions, no matter what.

Had a first informal contact from the recruiter explaining the project specifics. Then met the team manager for an in-depth discussion about my motivation to join their team, my skills, and the profile they were seeking. Afterward, there were some online technical tests and another meeting with the whole team. The overall process was very good and professional.
