An external recruiter reached out about an HR data analyst role, which was a 3-5 month project to help a new team automate reporting and data cleaning, with a chance to go full-time. After a phone interview, a second round was planned. However, because they needed someone urgently and the team lead and I clicked, and I had the required tech skills and experience, the lead discussed with his manager about me starting immediately. Two days later, the manager canceled the position, telling the team to handle it themselves. I later learned TomTom is downsizing, making the environment unstable, so I guess I avoided a bad situation.
