Client Service Representative
So, the interview process for this role was a little different back when I applied. There were only a supervisor and a manager, but now they've added a director, so it's a bit longer. I was referred by someone, so my experience might not be exactly what an external candidate would go through. I had one in-person interview with the supervisor that lasted about 30 minutes. The manager was supposed to see me too, but they couldn't make it, so they called me on the phone for a 40-minute chat a few days later. A bit after that, HR called with an offer, and then I just did the usual paperwork and a drug test.
- Can you describe your experience and background as it relates to this role?
- How would you handle typical scenarios encountered in this industry?
- What prompted your decision to leave your previous job?
Operations Manager
The interview process was pretty standard. It started with a few phone screenings and then moved to several Zoom meetings with different people. After going through multiple rounds, I was asked to create a plan for a 'hypothetical' initiative with my 'hypothetical' operations team. I spent a lot of time on this plan before submitting it. Unfortunately, after that, I was completely ignored by my contacts and the hiring team. I can't help but think they might have been using candidates to get 'free' ideas. I'm not even sure if they ever hired anyone for the role. It makes me question the company's integrity if they can't even send a rejection email. I'd be careful applying here.
- What's your reason for leaving your present job?
- Could you describe your management style?
- Do you have the ability to manage yourself?
Sales Development Representative
It was a basic two part qualifying process. First, they wanted to get a feel for my background, what I expected from the role, and they walked me through their company’s business approach and practices. If I moved on, the second interview was a roleplay where I'd have to do the duties of an SDR by reciting a script, and they'd assess how I handled objections and my speaking abilities over the phone.
- Have you ever had to read from a script before?
- Would you be willing to make over 80 calls each day?
- What made you interested in a career in real estate?
IT Specialist
I found this job on a website and got a call from the employer about a week later to set up a meeting with someone else. They asked me general questions about myself and my IT experience. I sensed I wouldn't get an offer as the interviewer seemed to be looking for something else while glancing at my resume. I also wasn't too keen on the role, so my interest waned. No technical questions were asked.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- What is your experience in IT?
- What school did you attend?
