I already knew the person who hired me because we had worked together for about 6 years before she started working at the Paramount. I feel like she does great work and she feels the same about my work, so it was a good fit.

I sent my resume in, and then they called me to come in. I had to make a few dishes so they could see my skills. After that, they hired me, and I started cooking regularly. I don't recall every single day, but I do remember some.

I got referred to the Tom Douglas organization and was introduced to the catering manager. After some emails, he invited me for a 45-minute to an hour-long chat to learn more about the restaurants. I asked him about his journey with the company and potential roles. I thought this was just to get to know each other, but by the end of our talk, he offered me a position as an ambassador, suggesting it would suit my personality better than a server role. I liked his relaxed, professional style and felt he understood my personality well. After that, I went through their hiring process, which is more involved than typical in the food industry. Once paperwork was done, I attended a new hire class to learn about the different locations, cuisines, and company culture.

I began the hiring process some time ago and it was okay but I ended up choosing a different job instead. The initial application phase seemed pretty well put together though.
