Get ready to get drilled!! All the recruiter did was read to me a long series of finance specific, pre-scripted questions and continued one by one, paused, and let me answer each time. While I met with an actual recruiter on video, it was not much better. I’m pretty sure my responses were being recorded because the recruiter had to fumble with the mute and a procedure with every one of my answers. The recruiter lacked any amount of personalization and asked me absolutely nothing about my specific background or anything on my resume. At the end of the barrage of questions, I had all of 2 minutes to ask any questions myself about the role or the company…2 minutes!! To make matters worse, a few days later, I received another email invitation to interview with the same recruiter…a second time! When I followed up to clarify and inform the recruiter about this potential mistake, I got no response and instead got a rejection email a few days after that. It gave me an immediate impression that their recruiting team lacks competency and professionalism. It was a terrible interview experience and gave me such a gross impression of this company. It gave me the impression that this company has high turnover based on how they interview candidates. I didn’t get past the first round, but I wouldn’t have been interested in moving forward to other rounds after all that.
- Could you describe your experience in building and maintaining financial models?
- How do you go about presenting financial data to stakeholders who are not from a finance background?
- Which ERP or financial modeling software have you used?
Talent Acquisition Partner
The application process included a 1-way digital interview, followed by interviews with the Head of TA and a TA team member. I was disappointed with the whole process. I spent a lot of time on it, only to find out there was a change in the role's needs after reaching the final stages. I even saw the same role posted months later, but as a contract position instead of full-time. It was a red flag when they mentioned a lot of internal changes, especially with executive leadership. The market is tough enough, so I wish they wouldn't waste people's time or give false hope.
- What are your methods for using technology in recruitment?
Product Manager
This whole experience was weird and offputting. The one-way interview felt incredibly uncomfortable and was also ineffective. During one of the questions, the screen froze, and when it came back, it told me that it would count as a skip for that question. The salary of 100-110k for a product manager role is a little alarming too, I’d say that it skews on the lower end for a Product Manager role requiring 3-5 years of experience, particularly with the technical focus on APIs, SQL, and data visualization tools.
- How do you create a product vision?
- Describe a situation where a data-driven decision you made had a significant impact on a project.
- What specific data did you examine?
Customer Support Agent
I had a phone interview that would have led to a second interview. All communication before that was through email. Scheduling was a bit tricky, but the interview started on time and they kept in touch.
- What's your approach to handling an angry customer?
